Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for contacting Pert Plus Consumer Relations.
Like most shampoo's, the Pert Plus line does contain tallow which is a animal derived ingredient and alcohol in some of the fragrances.
A complete list of ingredients can be found on the back of all Pert Plus bottles.

What about that hadith that says we can use soaps that have beef in it, but not pork. Wouldn't that mean Pert Plus is OK then?
ReplyDeleteWhere is the hadith then? I never heard of that Mrs. H. Most scholars say that we cannot use hygiene products with animal ingredients that aren't halal.
ReplyDeletei knew of tallow and figured this was not a good one. but have you found one that is ok?
ReplyDeleteand i am interested to see that hadith too. maybe it is a weak one otherwise there would not be so much drama over the issue right
Noooooooooo...But I use Pert!!. I thought it was the only one that didn't have SLS - which is basically what they add in FLOOR CLEANERS. O God, what's a girl supposed to use on her hair - eggs and lemon??? ^.^

I apologize, I shouldn't have said Hadith. I should have said ruling by a Sheikh.
ReplyDeletethats for weak muslims in my opinion. whats so hard about finding something else more natural to use? its also much healthier too. neway, that aside, most scholars dont follow that opinion which is the major reason why i dont either. if you follow that then you must eat gelatin too, and mono and diglyerides and rennet. also non zabiha meat cuz it changes from raw to cooked too right?l ol
ReplyDeleteLeila:
ReplyDeleteThat was very rude and uncalled for. I was asking a question, not saying that I follow it. I have just recently started being informed of all these products that I use have animal derived ingredients.
All natural stuff is very expensive. I'm sorry but I will not shell out $20 for a bottle of shampoo when that exact money will be going towards my groceries for the week. It may be healthier for you but must it be so expensive?
We are all here learning, therefore you are in no position to call anyone "weak". Think about yourself before you call others that.
Mrs. H
Okay... so I missed a lot here... no one really comments here so I didn't see this coming haha.
ReplyDeleteBut true, while many scholars do not follow this opinion, doesn't make it right to be rude towards someone who may. There is a hadith where the Prophet (SAW) mentions how the Jews would take impermissible fat and heat it down and cook it and use it saying that it was a new substance. And from what I understand he did not like this. I mean... come on, how many things did the Jews of that time do, in trying to find loopholes, which angered Allah? They were always trying to find a way out of something they were commanded not to do, and this is what they did when it came to using fats from animals they weren't supposed to. I will try and find the hadith inshaAllah and post it here. I might just use it in an entry. There are plenty brands which are not organic, but are Vegan or just do not use all that trash in it that is also inexpensive. We just need to hunt for it inshaAllah and then spread it around to one another!
Yes brothers and sisters believe it or not this is the way it is. We were told that the fitna is going to increase right? Be aware of all the products you have, I advise you to stop buying packaged products, just stick to good old fruits and vegetables and meat (unless you know of a product that is 100% halal)... its healthier its more delicious... and you dont have to worry about pigs in your food. And for soaps and stuff.. just search thoroughly for 3 or so products that is 100% halal and you are happy with then just buy that same one everytime. And dont take this matter lightly. We dont eat pork because it is God Almighty's order not because its "unhealthy". Assalamualaikum
ReplyDeleteThere are animal products in this?
ReplyDeleteAs'salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatu dearest sisters,
ReplyDeleteHalal makeup @ samina pure makeup however they do use pictures of women on their products so that's why I don't buy it from them but I want to tell them that when they stop using the women on their product packaging a I will most certainly buy it from them,, that is when if I ever go to UK, b/c I have also heard that buying and selling must be done onn the spot.. Ie: face to face and hand to hand! You like the product take it pay it to the cashier on a face to face level then you get your products.
