Pasta sauces seem to be a tricky product. Here is an email from Barilla stating that only a few products contain ingredients that we cannot consume, however, they said that they share equipment between all the other flavors so there's contamination between ingredients. They shouldn't be allowed to mix equipment! That's bad for Halal eaters, Kosher eaters, and Vegans customers!
Good Morning Lazeena,
Thank you for your recent email to Barilla America, Inc.
The Barilla Green & Black Olive contains wine. The Barilla Three Cheese sauce contains cheese. Both of these products are made on the share equipment with our other sauces.
We hope that you continue to enjoy Barilla Pasta & Sauces.
Regards,

ReplyDeleteafter reading this, i had a dream my mom and my sister both used this sauce in their food and i was trying to warn them, to tell them it was haram but it was too late!
ReplyDeletei think i'm reading this blog too much lol...
How about Barilla Pasta Noodles? Are they Halal? Or any pasta noodles in particular? I usually use the no-boil lasagna noodles. I am very new to this and am cooking for a friend. The request for dinner was spaghetti or lasagna. Even a halal-friendly recipe would help. I am trying to research as much as I can. :) Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteI think they may have changed their process. I need to double check.
